Sea Trail - Maples
211 Clubhouse Road Sunset Beach, NC 28468
|
The first built course at Sea Trails, the Maples course, opened in 1986 and is a mixture of twisted ancient oaks, tall Caroliona Pines and tifdwarf greens defining each hole on this beautiful par 72 course. S till regarded as one of Maples finest, this one-of-a-kind course has newly |
| renovated A1/A4 blended Bent grass is home to nesting ospreys and other native wildlife. The course, although a bit shorter than the other two courses, and more its fairways features five holes along the marshes and Calabash Creek, as well as medium-sized greens and water comes
in-play at least a dozen times. The course also is peppered with numerous waste bunkers, one of which extends the full length of a fairway. The one bad thing is that the Maples course has backyards to detract from the beauty and challenge of this course.
